Instructor training: sleep, potty, Baby Massage & Baby Yoga

Our accredited, online training programmes, allow you to work in your own time, at your own pace, but with access to 1:1 ongoing support whilst you study.  Meaning that you are able to work around any other commitments that you may have. We know that life can be busy, so making the course accessible to you, at times which suit you allows greater life flexibility, whilst still completing quality, supportive accredited training.

There is the option of availing of flexible payment plans to ensure that quality, evidence based training is available through manageable, affordable instalments. We believe that finances should not be a barrier to quality training. 

From the day you begin studying, to when you commence supporting families, we believe in a healthy work-life balance, where your work is built around the needs of you and your family. Family time should be at the centre, with work fitting around it - rather than fitting family life around work. So there are no set times to log in to study, allowing you to focus on achieving this balance. 

Our commitment to a family centred approach, is not only evident through the content of our training programmes, but is at the centre of how our courses are delivered and how our students are supported. Allowing you to study to gain the certification, skill set and knowledge you desire, at a time and pace which works for your family. 

Unfortunately training in Sleep Consultancy, Potty Training Consultancy, Baby Massage Instruction and Baby Yoga Instruction remain unregulated industries. This means that anyone can use these titles, no matter the quality of their training (if they have even obtained training at all).

Course facilitator Susan Wallace, comes from the Social Work profession. Social Work is regulated, which means that this title can only be used if someone has completed a certain standard of training and demonstrated their skill set. The public can check a public facing register to check that their Social Worker has obtained the required level of training and certification.

When Susan founded Settled Petals in 2018 she was shocked to discover that there are currently no required standards of training for Sleep Consultancy, Potty Training Consultancy, Baby Massage Instruction or Baby Yoga Instruction. There is also no requirement to join a public facing register, to give prospective parents assurances in an individuals skillset or level of training. 

In a desire to improve quality standards and as a commitment to high quality, evidence based practice, all of Settled Petals training courses have been accredited by FEDANT (Federation of Antenatal Educators). FEDANT are the regulatory body for Antenatal Educators, Breastfeeding Counsellors and Doulas. FEDANT are responsible for the regulation and training quality within these areas. FEDANT also accredit other courses in a similar field, which meets its high standards. 

All 4 of Settled Petals Training courses have been accredited by FEDANT.  This allows graduates of the programmes to join the relevant section of the FEDANT public facing register (optional). Therefore if you are wanting to achieve a reputable conduit to clients who are seeking your services they can check the register to confirm the standard of your training meets the high standards of the FEDANT panel. By registering with FEDANT you gain use of their logo on publicity materials - offering prospective clients assurance in your skillset and quality of your training. 

We understand that different students, have different learning styles and individual commitments.  We therefore offer the option of online training and in person training).

The Online options can be accessed anywhere in the world where there is internet connection. The in person training take place in Belfast (Baby Massage Instructor Training Belfast and Baby Yoga Instructor Training Belfast) but are also available on request throughout Ireland / Northern Ireland.
