Support your child with the Potty Training process. Whether you are just starting out on your potty training journey and would like guidance, or for support on trouble shooting with progress our Potty Training Consultant Susan is here to support you.
The Potty Training Process should compliment a child's individual needs and development, rather than fight against it. We believe in supporting parents to have the tools to support their child in a respectful way
Shame is not a good learning technique. Our approach aims at removing shame from the Potty Process, leaving the child open to mastering this new skill in a way which promotes their self esteem and individual development
Pressure and Potty Training are not a good mix. Rather than set restrictive, time limiting strategies on the toileting process, at Settled Petals we believe in removing pressure and power struggles. By using techniques which support the child's natural desire to learn, we can instead engage in a smoother, less stressful potty training process

Are you supporting a little one who is finding toilet training difficult?
Is the approach to nursery / school causing anxiety?
We know that there are an increasing number of children who are still finding toileting difficult on the approach to school / nursery. However, many families and early years professionals describe how there is little support or understanding about how to best support such children.
Given the demand, we are offering instant free access to our webinar on supporting children with toileting on the approach to school. It will be available for a limited time.
It is suitable for:-
-Parents
-Early Years Professionals
-Education Professionals
It explores some of the reasons why children may find this milestone tricky and ways to support them. It is non-judgemental and explores social, physical, environmental and emotional factors which may impact the toileting process. The approach is gentle, child centred and aims to increase intrinsic motivation.

Different cultures have different average ages to commence Potty Training. The video below explores in more detail.
There are some Social, Emotional, Physical and Environmental factors which can influence Potty Training.
However, these are not something we have to passively wait for. Instead I recommend that parents and caregivers use a technique called Potty Learning. Here we can support the child's natural motivation to engage in the Potty Training Process.
Our approach is Child Orientated in that it supports parents and caregivers to support children inline with their own social, emotional, physical and environmental needs, but which also promotes these areas of child development.
You can learn much more about Potty Learning and the Potty Training process in our instant access Potty Training online resource.
Some children develop a fear of using the potty or toilet. This video explores this in more detail....
Sometimes children become afraid to poo. Here is a short video explaining more:
Many parents wonder if it is OK to provide a pull up during Potty Training. This depends on a number of factors which are explored in this short video.....
Are you worried about how to clean a potty or how to clean up potty accidents? Are you concerned about adding harsh cleaning chemicals to your home, but also want to ensure the potty and home remains hygienic?
Here are some of our potty cleaning hacks:
-Use reusable wipes or rags to clean the potty (much more effective than toilet roll)
-Spray the potty with a non-toxic cleaner. Colt & Willow potty spray smells amazing!
-Wipe again with a clean wipe
-You can store used wipes in a wet bag. This keeps them away from other washing and means you can pop the whole bag in the wash without touching them again
-If there have been accidents on clothes and sheets add them to the wash along with the wipes
-If the clothes are soiled or very dirty do a rinse wash first
-Then a second wash with washing powder (more effective than liquid tablets when potty training) and Bambino Mio Miofresh
-Any remaining stains hang in the sun
-For accidents try Thieves cleaner for floors and upholstery (follow the instructions of the cleaner)
